Putting Issue 3 together has been nothing short of fun. The highlight for this issue has to be our photo shoot with the side-splitting Cuban Brothers who grace our cover this month.
To celebrate the off-kilter comedy quartet’s 10th Anniversary, we spent a fun filled day in London at the hospitable Mason Arms with a team of stylists, camera crew and photographers, ‘working’ to bring you an exclusive interview and shoot with the Brothers. To say it was a hilariously memorable experience is an understatement. Numerous outfit changes and riotous comedy abounded - the energy between the group: incredible. In deference to our taste and decency laws we have excluded the x-rated pictures – although those images will take some time to be erased from the brain!
Disclosure, always keen to seek out and expose our very own home grown talent, caught up with international dance music hero and local Sotonian: the spectacularly gifted James Zabiela. It was a tight schedule. In between his flights to Miami and Mayrhofen, we visited James in the studio of his bachelor pad in Southampton, where our photo shoot took place. Three days later, after a day snowbombing on the slopes, we completed our interview at the bar in the Mannis Hotel, Mayrhofen.
For those of you with a conscience, our article on Chichester based CRED ethical jewellery may have you thinking twice before you head out to buy your loved one that huge rock she’s seen in town. Our Guest Fashion Editor, Elle Hankinson, tells us her secrets as to who’s ‘it’ in the fashion world right now, and they don’t disappoint. We at Team Disclosure already have our names on the waiting list for those to-die-for bow detail military jackets.
As usual, it’s comps galore at Disclosure, but the icing on the cake this month has to be our ‘Festival Special’. We’ve teamed up with our festival buddies to give loyal Disclosure readers a chance to win pairs of tickets to nearly every major UK and European festival in 2008 - ensuring one helluva summer of fun!
Please do leave your thoughts and messages on our comments page - good and bad - as this will help us plan and develop future issues.
Team Disclosure The Cuban Brothers, born of the loins of 70''s Havana and kings of comedy talk exclusively to Disclosure.
Cuba: one of the world’s last bastions of socialism; the home of Castro; baseball; fat cigars; rum; and, so the legend tells it, the Cuban Brothers.
Whether we’ll ever be able to verify this last fact is doubtful, but it’s neither here nor there as Disclosure sits down with the comedy foursome for an hour of expletive filled shenanigans, laughter and general wrongness.
What the Cubans ‘do’ is best experienced live, in the flesh. It generally involves varying degrees of nudity, singing (their cover of Lionel Richie’s All Night Long is a particular highlight), DJ’ing (classic hip-hop, Latin, Funk, House, whatever), some mind-boggling dancing and general mischief.

James Zabiela, 28, poster boy for the tech-obsessed clubber, globe-trotting DJ, couch aficionado: “I bought a flat a few years ago and I (stresses) love my couch, just sitting on it. I actually came back from Miami, Saturday night; I arrived Sunday morning in Southampton, went home, sat on my couch for a day, and then I came straight out here to Austria to play Snowbombing. Any normal person would have gone straight from Miami to Austria - but I just have to go home to watch the Eastenders omnibus (laughs).”
Disclosure Graduate Fashion
I made my way to the fashion tents at London Fashion Week and fought my way to the front to see what is known to be one of the most exciting shows - the Central Saint Martins MA fashion show. The audience, which included some of the most important fashion editors in the business; those bloody Geldof girls, heavenly lemon blossom pudding and the other one; jewellery designer Theo Fennel; singer Lemar; and the ever dreamy Christian Slater, keenly watched a variety of collections come down the catwalk. The designer whose work managed to make me tear my eyes away from Mr Slater was the exceptionally talented David Steinhorst.
